Tracy Bridgeford I am in the process of writing a history of Council for Program in Technical and Scientific Communication (CPTSC) and will be preparing a presentation of this history at the 35th meeting of the CPTSC in Minneapolis in October 2008 as well as making this history available at cptsc.org. I'm writing to ask you to contribute stories about CPTSC. I'd especially like stories about the very early years (circa 1973 to present). I have set up a blog on cptsc.org called “History Project” to collect these narratives. All narratives are welcome, but keep in mind that the blog will be public. I'd like to request that posting signifies consent for quoting, synthesizing, and/or paraphrasing. Don't worry–I will do justice to your stories. I'm also looking for any pictures or memorabilia for this project, which can also be posted on the blog by using the “add new item” drop-down menu. Any items collected can also be added to the archives housed at University of Minnesota . The blog will be available for posting for several months. Instructions for Posting 1. Access http://www.cptsc.org/history / 2. To enter the blog area, find the History Project introductory page and click on the “CPTSC History Blog: A Collection of Stories” link. Creating a new entry requires entering two options: locate the options on the top-right of the center frame. 3. Click on “add new item” and drag down to “new blog entry.” 4. Click on “state” and drag down to “published.” (If you are not logged in, these options will not be available.) If you have problems, contact me at tbridgeford@mail.unomaha.edu
