Dr. Becker-Leckrone specializes in Literary Theory and 19th- and 20th-Century British Literature. In 2006, she was awarded UNLV's Morris Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship.

UNLV English Department Professor Megan Becker-Leckrone is this year's recipient of UNLV's Morris Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship in 2006. Her book Julia Kristeva and Literary Theory (Palgrave, 2005) was judged the top 2004-05 publication by the college's research faculty.
