Interim
Started in 1946 by Wilbur Stevens, late poet and UNLV English Professor (emer.), Interim is an annual creative writing publication that features poetry, fiction, and book reviews. Neither Interim nor its editors have a prevailing aesthetic or political philosophy, and past contributors include writers as diverse as Martine Bellen, Anselm Berrigan, Brenda Hillman, Paul Hoover, Richard Hugo, Alice Notley, Anne Porter, Leslie Scalapino, Susan Schultz, Eleni Sikelianos, Arthur Vogelsang, Catherine Wagner, and William Carlos Williams. Each issue is approximately 150 pages in length, and we have an approximate press run of 250 copies.
Submissions should be limited to 3-5 poems, 1 story, and/or one brief book review. Interim's reading period is September through April, and no submissions are read in the summer. Please note that during the 2005-06 reading period, we will not be considering unsolicited work while we work on a special issue devoted to the art of book reviewing. We do accept simultaneous submissions but would like to be advised in advance if submissions are being considered elsewhere. Submit work via post using the following address:
